At Econos Oy ("Econos", "we", "us", or "our"), we take your privacy extremely seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose your personal and financial information in connection with your access to and use of the Econos intelligent financial operating system and services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, business email, phone number, and company legal settings. We also ingest financial transactions, invoice details, receipts, and tax records either uploaded by you or retrieved via API connections with banks and accounting registries that you explicitly authorize.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to provide, maintain, and optimize the Service. This includes automating bookkeeping ledger entries, calculating VAT returns, providing financial trend insights, and facilitating secure communications between you and your accounting firm partner. We do not sell your personal or business data to third parties.
4. Legal Basis and GDPR Compliance
For users within the European Economic Area (EEA), we process personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing includes the performance of our contract with you, compliance with Finnish statutory tax/accounting laws, and our legitimate business interests in securing and improving our services.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
To offer our services, we share data with trusted subprocessors (e.g., hosting providers like Google Cloud, database services, and auth adapters) under strict data processing agreements. We may also transmit information to tax registries (Tulorekisteri, Verohallinto) and banking institutions at your explicit request and action.
6. Data Retention and Security
We store financial and tax records in accordance with statutory retention periods under the Finnish Accounting Act (Kirjanpitolaki). We apply industry-standard technical and organizational security measures, including end-to-end encryption in transit and at rest, secure API integrations, and strictly isolated multi-tenant databases.
7. Your Rights
